WIW: First Outing For Faux Leather Skirt and Chanel "esque" Jacket

Hi Ladies,

To work today I wore:

New Chanel inspired long jacket
Ink blue tunic style blouse
Faux black leather skirt
Ink blue fringed scarf
Black patent pumps with with trim
New black handbag

The jacket is the one I posted some weeks ago from a change room and you all encouraged me to buy it...so I did!

Pic 3 is a photo I posted a few weeks ago when I bought the skirt, it's pictured with the ink blue blouse I'm wearing today.

Your thoughts, suggestions etc very welcome.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely week xxx

KILLLER! I love the contrast between the Chanel-eqsue jacket (femine, soft) and the faux leather skirt (rugged). The two pieces work beautifully togther and the colors are divine.

  • Queen Mum replied 12 years ago

I second Kimlee's killer vote! fabulous!

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 12 years ago

One of the best outfits I have seen. I love it and would copy it in a flash if I thought I could find a long tweed jacket. Totally killer and I have never used that term before.

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

KILLER to the power of KILLER. One of the very best on YLF.

The ink blue tunic and scarf *make* the outfit!

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

OMG. KILLER to the power of!!

I know only Angie can really give that rating, but that is my prediction of what she will say. And if she doesn't, her eyes need examining. You look stunning in this.

SO sophisticated. I love the contrast of the silk with the leather, and also with the textured jacket. And the detail on your shoes is perfect!

Is that the handbag in 2? It looks blue in that photo for some reason. But whatever colour it is, it's beautiful!

This is one of my absolute favourite outfits, not just on you, but on anyone!

Love... You are totally working it and I love that bag!

    O. M. G. I just gasped aloud and I am NOT kidding. Um wow. Words escape me...

I'll bet they all do what you tell them to do--wherever you work!

  • CocoLion replied 12 years ago

OMG! Not a ten but-- are an eleven in these pictures. Well done!

  • Midwest Girl replied 12 years ago

I love it--you look so chic and powerful (and I mean that in a good way)!

  • Janet replied 12 years ago

That is a wow outfit! I love it. Love the detail on that bag too -- reminiscent of Angie's Ms. Valentino!

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

Suz, we posted at the same time and you were in my head. My comment is just above yours :)

  • rae replied 12 years ago

Goodness, so stunning! Black and blue is a favorite combo of mine, and this outfit makes me swoon - the top, the jacket, the skirt, the bag! All utterly gorgeous and gorgeous together.

  • Deborah replied 12 years ago

Oh my goodness, Ladies I am totally humbled by your kind words and approval of this outfit. Such high praise coming from such incredibly stylish women.

Dianthus I just "happened" upon this jacket... and it was on sale:)

Angie, Im speechless! Thank you! Thanks to you, I am really starting to appreciate how color can really add to an outfit, giving that little something to make it "special".

Suz, yes the bag is black :) And Janet I adore Angie's Ms Valentino and I have been really drawn to the 'flower' or 'rose' adornments on bags since I saw it.

Claire, thank you and you made me laugh out loud (at work)! I am currently in a manager's role however I work for a not for profit aid agency (providing local - my area - and overseas services) and I am telling you I could come to work in pyjamas and no one would care!

You have all made my day, and its nice to know I now have another YLF approved outfit in my closet.

Looks like I'm just going to add to the K2K!

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

Angie, so funny that we cross-posted! But wow, this outfit is well worth coming back for! I am just stunned by how beautiful it is. Deborah, you get some kind of prize this week for sure!

  • sarah replied 12 years ago

Deborah. STUNNING! I love the blue and the black together, and all of the different textures, and that bag is gorgeous, and, and, and....WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cobaltblue replied 12 years ago

Woo! I immediately thought of Angie's Ms. Valentino, too. What a great outfit.

  • Debora replied 12 years ago

WOW. WOW, WOW!!! Absolutely stunning and that purse....LOVE!

    *plonk*

Your total fabulocity just takes my breath away!

  • lyn67 replied 12 years ago

WOW, I may be late but tought the same as Suz and... Angie of course:-)).
One of the best outfits here, and I love it not only because of the leather skirt and silk/ blue and black combo-and special bag/and shoes- but also because you showed a perfect outerwear which is so hard to match accordingly! This chanelesque longer jacket, is heart warming!
You do have such a great wardrobe!
    thanx for sharing!

...can I suggest to Angie and Greg perhaps a new feature on this site, having a permanent thread, or link where to gather those outfits which got K2K ratings from Angie and/or most of forum members, pls? It would be so helpful, to have the opportunity seeing them any time wanted as an inspiration...

  • lyn67 replied 12 years ago

Oh, and forgot to ask where and what are you working?????
(has to be a fabulous place!!)

  • yublocka replied 12 years ago

Wow Deborah I am joining the hordes in drooling over this outfit. Totally amazing!! Are they the shoes you got on the ylf meetup? Love em!! And you must share where that gorgeous bag is from!!!

  • christy replied 12 years ago

Just chiming in to add to the chorus of WOWs!!! You look terrific - taking note of how to style my black leather skirt which I'm a bit intimidated by at the moment. Really a great outfit. Love the bag!

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

Gorgeous! You are simply stunning from head to toe!

  • Sparky replied 12 years ago

I can't believe I missed this post earlier. WOW. Three thumbs up, and then some. Every little detail in this outfit adds up to way more than the individual parts. You look FANTASTIC. Your outfit is one I will come back to often for inspiration!

PS Your hair is one of your best accessories to this outfit! Really adds to the wow factor. :)

  • Carole replied 12 years ago

WOW! You look amazing and I absolutely adore that bag!

  • Deborah replied 12 years ago

Thank you again for your lovely comments.

Lyn67, I often tag posts as favorites so I can find them easily. There are many outfits posted here that I like to refer back to for inspiration. Oh, and I work for an international aid agency.. Not very fab on the style front I'm afraid:(

Tam, yes the shoes were from our Melbourne meet, I am loving them and wearing them quite a bit.

The bag is from "Strandbags", moderately priced and also on sale. I had my eye on it for a month or so.

Christyg, I would love to see your leather skirt. I too was a bit intimidated, particularly given I don't think I have seen a leather skirt since I moved here, but I really enjoyed wearing it. I am looking for another blouse to wear with it...something colorful like Bei Jing's outfit.

Again you have made my week. Thanks for your encouragement, you have me feeling quite fab!

  • lyn67 replied 12 years ago

Thanx so much Deborah, for enlightening!!! now, my problem is solved:-))
(I realy don't know how could I miss this to the present:-))

  • Fruitful replied 12 years ago

Oh my goodness Deborah, you just killed me.

You look AMAZING in the ink blue.

You have the figure to easily rock a leather skirt.

Agree with Sparky about your hair.

Everything about this oozes class and I love it!

    ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Jonesy replied 12 years ago

I must have missed this the first time around. Just chiming in to say you look fab! Somehow, this outfit manages to be elegant, glamorous, stylish, and work appropriate all at the same time--no small feat :)!
