WIW : Embracing Black & White (Yet Again :)

Ladies,

Blessed by your wise words yesterday!

Today is a work day with a Specialist appointment in the afternoon.

Wearing my favourite leggings, black and white geo print tunic and crinkly jacket.

Tunic was a knee length dress, but when I put it on last week DH said he didn't like how I styled it and something was off. Well I think he was right and I shortened it to tunic length and I think this works better.

As always your suggestions and thoughts much appreciated.

You've done it again Deborah - stunning! And you know how much I love the pops of red with your outfits.

That geo print tunic is fab! There is something eternally classic about black and white, and your pops of red are always the icing on the cake!

You are really going to town with your new sewing machine! Did you have previous sewing experience? Either way, I love how this has turned out. That's a terrific graphic print on the tunic and I love the crinkly jacket. Has DH seen this since the alteration? It's a fab look and I love the red clutch!

Gosh, Deborah, you have the most amazing collection of interesting tunic dresses in the world! You look stunning as always.

Wow. I need to take lessons from you on wearing tunics. They always look so fab on you! This is no exception.

I really like this look! Very elegant. What a great idea to create a tunic. Love the proportions of the tunic & jacket.

    Stunner!

    Shannon & Jewell thank you:)

Claire, I learnt to sew at school but I am not particularly gifted with it. My mum and sister are brilliant seamstresses, and cooks, but it seems I was blessed with other talents lol. For me it's about interest and now that I can see how useful sewing is (and cost effective) I am taking my time and learning how to do basic alterations properly. I was in a rush this morning, so I am not sure DH noticed but I will ask him what he thinks tonight:)

Thanks Sarah. I love wearing dresses over pants/leggings so tunics are perfect.

Suz, thank you! I could see you working a layered tunic/leggings/jacket look.

MTB thank you! For some reason the proportions didn't look as good when the tunic was a dress.

    Jen, thanks:)

Love the graphic tunic and fantastic red bag!

I think that showing more leg with the shorter length tunic is flattering!
Have you tried it with tights and your oxfords?

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Lyn I will try your suggestion:). Would you wear an opaque tight?

You look amazing. I really love your outfit posts. :-)

Wow, I love black white and red and you always look so fab in this color combo. That's great that you just took matters into your own hands and altered the dress into a tunic--it looks perfect on you!

  • Aunty replied 11 years ago

For heavens sake you did it again!!!

Still my favorite combo Black and white with a splash (colour)
I love the dress tunic length. The proportions look just right to me:)

Another one here who likes the way you wear tunics *taking notes* ! Love black, white and a smidge of red :)

  • Parsley replied 11 years ago

You should embrace black and white- you look fantastic in it!

More admiration from me for the dress-shortened-to-a-tunic over pants. I think this might be a great way to wear some of the micro-minis out there that are pretty but otherwise way too short to consider.

    Thanks for the inspiration!
