WIW & Easter Greetings

Hi Everyone,

It's Good Friday here as I type and we have been to church and visited my mother in law for lunch. Master 13 finished his first term at high school yesterday and we are all exhausted after what has been a very busy first term. We are looking forward to a little mini break:)

I have been really enjoying wearing culottes this season and now that the weather has cooled I can get the open toes ankle boots out and start styling my culottes a little different to how I have been wearing them over summer.

Today I wore my black jersey culottes with ankle boots, white blouse and new long black cardigan. I had been searching for a long black cardigan last year and settled for a cheap one I found but was never really happy wearing it (YLF has made me a bit of a stickler for quality). This one is perfect. It has a knit front and jersey back and sleeves. It's a very nice weight and falls perfectly.

Hoping the long cardi with the culottes isn't too voluminous. I liked the look and can see myself repeating it but might be inclined to try a more streamlined top.

BTW I decided to have some low lights in my hair to break up what had become quite a blocked blonde. The lighting is making it look a bit darker than it is, the blonde is still very white and I'm really happy with it. #3 was taken in natural light.  The idea was that it would add texture and movement to my short cut.

#4 is an Easter artwork Master 13 created with some friends which was displayed in the church foyer this morning... It was a nice change from him being on the computer !!

Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy weekend.

xxx Deborah

Easter greetings! We had a long-but-packed Holy Thursday service tonight as Lent ends. Tomorrow are Good Friday services, then Easter Vigil on Saturday night, the highlight of the liturgical year, then Easter Sunday.
Your hair and outfit are stunning. Even your belt is perfect with the draped pieces.

Love your outfit and lovely change in hair too.

I hope you are having a joyous and blessed Easter.

Happy Easter Deb - and I absolutely love your hair colour like this.  I liked it white blonde too, but to have a different look for awhile is never a bad thing. This indeed has more depth and is a nice change. Funny, I'm looking at my own colour with a critical eye now too - fearing it's getting a bit too white/grey looking.

    Happy Easter Deborah!
This is a great outfit and fittingly solemn for Good Friday.
You have had such a lot of wear from your Motto belt, it looks very flattering and finishes your outfits beautifully.
I hope you enjoy your break too.

Your outfit is Pure Deborah. Just fab! I love the texture and depth the lowlights add to your hair.

Have your EF harems arrived yet? I bet they'd look stunning with that belt.

A very happy Easter to you and your family.

Happy Easter. The outfit looks great and the low lights are a success adding such a nice texture. I really like the boots with the outfit, when I try to wear them they look too heavy on me. I thought it was because I have blonde hair but you do too and it totally works.

Gorgeous, Deb. Every time you post I have to remind myself that you are not very tall, but you manage to wear voluminous looks so well. They never wear you.

Love the new hair color. So rich looking. Happy Easter!

The '80s belt makes the look. Fun accessory! The white top is gorgeous with the culottes too.

LOVE the darker hair. Works really well with the black.

Wow, low lights are so great in your hair, such a subtle shade! Love the new styling of your culottes, too-am still on the hunt for a great pair. Your outfit of today is a real treat to my eyes. Master 13 did a good job, Happy Easter to You!

And now I want a long cardi! I love the modernistic cross :)

Great outfit for Good Friday! I like the new long cardigan--very sleek and soft looking--and it's great with the culottes. Not too much volume, imo. I also noticed how the belt really makes the outfit; you have a knack for wearing it to beautiful advantage. Your son's artwork is really neat, and how nice that the church displayed it!

Happy Easter to you.  As your hemisphere cools down, ours is warming up!  We should be just about meeting in the fashion middle now!

The bag and belt make this outfit for me - defining that tiny waist in the voluminous clothes is perfect.  The taupe bag picks up the lowlights in new, fantastic hair which I think looks absolutely amazing.

Those low lights look beautiful in your hair, Deborah! I really like the effect a lot. Like the outfit, too. That belt has been such a workhorse for you! Have a lovely family holiday and enjoy the rest!

Happy Easter, you look impeccable, such a wonderful Good Friday look. Your son's easter artwork is outstanding - what a wonderful and modern piece. He seems to have inherited your artistic flair.

Happy Easter! I like your son's artwork.
Nice outfit, the belt really completes the look. You are my inspiration for "relaxed chic"

Happy Easter - and what a great outfit! I love the belt.

i am reminded of all the years my mother would see an Easter dress for me. People always dressed up to go to church, especially on Easter.

  • Karie replied 8 years ago

That outfit looks fantastic on you, the belt is spectacular. The new colors in your hair are perfect. Master 13's artwork is amazing!

Blessed Easter, Deborah.  Your outfit strikes the right tone for Good Friday, of course -- No one dresses in frills and hats or sings "Alleluia!" but this service always does my soul good.  I feel sober, but grounded, peaceful and strong when I emerge from the church, once the last light has been extinguished.

Now, as for fashion, I love the ease of the silhouette -- quite flattering, and the return of the booties is fab (and probably quite welcome).

I'm a big fan of the depth that lowlights give to lighter colored hair -- you get a big thumbs up from me  on that!

Happy Easter, you look interesting and beautiful.  Young master has some artistic talent, does he get that from his Mom I wonder?

Well done to Master 13 and his friends for the very creative and unusual cross.
