WIW : Drape

Hi Lovely Ones,

It is Friday... Yay!  Bible Study this morning and then into work at 1.00 p.m.
I bought this skirt about a month ago but hadn't really had time to 'style' it.  Hoping this works.  I needed a flat heel after almost a full week in heels and it feels good!

Outfit consists of:

Long tail cardigan : Luka (its long at the front and short at the back)
Sleeveless grey/black/white top : Target (sort of a forest/tree scene)
Asymetric jersey type skirt : Kmart
Flat Booties : Rivers

This is the type of outfit that rates highly on happiness scale, but does it actually work?

Thanks for looking and for your thoughts.

Aussie girls... happy Friday, all others... happy almost Friday.

xxx Deborah

Deborah, I have never seen you in any outfit that doesn't work (and I have seen quite a few pix of your outfits). You have amazing style!

I really like the target top with this - and agree with Sarah, you have amazing style!

You certainly know what you are doing with the various lines of your clothing, Deborah - you always look spectacular! I'm afraid if I attempted anything remotely similar it would look like something was erroneously tucked into my panty hose.

    I echo pil, lol!

LOL, Pil!! Deborah never looks like that kind of hot mess, does she? Deb, I am loving the soft greys here and how they work with the asymmetric lines. Beautiful.

Pil too funny :) And Suz, I suspect what i don't post would curl your hair lol.
I was just chatting with a work colleague, who kindly complimented this outfit, that I think my fall back forumula is 'when in doubt just layer black garments' ha ha. The skirt is a little tricky though, I tried a few tops but this one which fits closer to the body seemed the best option.

    Working most definitely Deborah!
I am amazed you have found such a great skirt at Kmart- no 'store' unturned for sure :)
Hasn't it been a fantastic Winter so far for booties and the like?
I hope you have a lovely restful weekend and a good sleep-in tomorrow!

    You always look spectacular Deborah!

Wow Deborah! what interesting arty drapyness! Echoing the others ... you do indeed have fab style :)

Deborah this looks very you, therefore elegant and arty, what I have referred to before as a "Melbourne" look.
I'd prefer it with heels but not if that entails suffering.
Talking heels, I have a Birkenstock footbed, just a little blue thingummy, that I slip into all my heeled shoes. Works wonders.

Does it work? DOES IT WORK???? Heck YES it works!

The Layering Queen strikes again. Love the various hemlines in this - the long tails of the cardigan, the asymmetry of the skirt hem - it all makes the outfit so visually interesting.

And the top is from Target? Gorgeous.
