WIW : Deep Red!

Happy Monday!

Well the colour is actually called Blood Red and I'm loving it.

I am pretty much at my desk doing admin today, after a very full and busy weekend, so chose something loose and fluid (almost a loungewear feel) but still smart for work. I did pop a cocoon cardigan on for the trip into work but forgot to get a pic.

This top is the Metalicus Marlini Drape top, and is the same as my black one. The pants are my tapered Sportsgirl pants and Emelia block heels.

#1 and #4 /5 are most accurately representative of the deep red colour. #2 & #3 are show if up brighter than it really is.

So how does this work. Does the colour work for me? There is so ething about the dark red that appeals to me in the same way black does.

Thank for checking it out.

xxxDeborah

If you are adding a color to your wardrobe, this is an excellent choice, Deborah! It's gorgeous on you and fits well with your style.

  • viva replied 10 years ago

I love this color on you -- and I especially love how it makes your eyes look silver. Fabulous.

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

    Jenava and Susie, thank you!

Viva, I must has the weirdest eyes! Lol.  Depending on what I wear, they can look blue, green or grey (silver).. perhaps I need to consider then an "accessory"!

  • Peri replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous! I wish we lived in the same country because I end up wanting to copy so many of your looks!

  • replied 10 years ago

Just a fabulous colour on you , Deborah.  Really love this top and pants - lovely, lovely, look!

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

I had to sit down to read this thread because I didn't think that I could handle seeing another outfit of yours that included color!  ;-)  First pink - and now beautiful deep red!  And this color looks good on you too Deborah!  The style of the top is "YOU."  You're so cool I can hardly stand it!

  • deb replied 10 years ago

You look gorgeous in this color. You should wear more of it.

  • lady replied 10 years ago

This is beautiful. You wear this blood red very well. Very "casually sophisticated".

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Peri, if we were in the same country just think of the shopping trips we could do together :)

Lisa, thank you!  I could see you wearing the deep reds too:)

Marley, thank you!  You are way too nice to me :)  I wouldn't mind adding more deep red to my wardrobe as I think it could work very nicely but at otherwise it's back to black:)

deb, thanks so much.  If I can find the right pieces, I will be tempted to add more of this tone to my wardrobe.

    Lady, thank you:)

wonderful color on you. Love the color with the red lip. Metalicus clothes have such a gorgeous drape.

  • Tania replied 10 years ago

What a great color on you!  Your eyes really sparkle with this.

  • Elly replied 10 years ago

That blood color is fabulous, I love it and it works beautifully, just like your lipstick.

  • Marley replied 10 years ago

Deborah - Amy Weinstein had a song called "Back to Black."  You could use it as your theme song!  :-)

  • Dee replied 10 years ago

Love this color on you and the top, too!

  • gryffin replied 10 years ago

Stunning color - beautiful look!!  Everything you've been picking is wonderful!!  Have fun!

  • replied 10 years ago

Wow- absolutely beautiful colour on you !!

  • carolbee replied 10 years ago

Yes, gorgeous colour on you. That top has great shape and drape.

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

    Wow, Stunning.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

You look amazing in this! I love this deep, rich, blue-black red. Stunning on you! The top is simple and streamlined, letting you shine. I think it's brilliant to add "pops" of colour (and white) especially in warmer weather when you can't really layer as often to achieve a statement look.

  • unfrumped replied 10 years ago

Woohoo. Notblack. Great choice-- this is your red.

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

Not only do you look great in black, but you wear this shade of red beautifully as well. Fab outfit.

  • tulle replied 10 years ago

What a cure for the Winter blahs!  Love this red and the shape of the top--beautiful on you.  And don't you love how some colors almost seem to come with a prescription for lipstick?  Really, a great look.

  • Lucy replied 10 years ago

Just gorgeous! Such a flattering shade for you, and totally on task with your style vision. I do adore all black, but the dash of colour every now and then is exciting!

  • Sal replied 10 years ago

It is a lovely red, deep and warm, with no cerise at all.
Gorgeous shaping too.  It suits you very very well!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous!  This is a perfect red to my eye.  Not too orange or blue, a bit cool and deep.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous color and drape. Metalicus really gets you!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Beautiful color on you and wonderful drape. I usually don't like red with black unless there's some white, but this red is an exception. It also gives you a glow.

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Beautiful! You look amazing in blacks... But this color is stunning on you!

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

Wow, Deborah!  That color loves you!

  • AJ replied 10 years ago

Wowie zowie! Love that shade of red on you!! It adds more to your dramatic, arty vibe.

  • Deb replied 10 years ago

Well you are full of surprises this week! You look positively radiant in this colour Deborah. It will look fab with your white pants too....

  • fuzzylogic replied 10 years ago

    Wowzers! Loving this, Deborah!

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

Sky's fallin' down!:-) Deb is sporting some new colors, like BLOOD RED and PASTEL PINK???? (I missed your other threads from the last week, but saw them now, and my jaw made a sound, you know which...:-)).  How could that happen????? (It's spring in her air, for sure:-))

AND she is STILL looking frekin' gorgeous!

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

it's not just the red (which looks gorgeous), is the fluidness of this top, which fits perfectly with your style! FAB

  • Astrid replied 10 years ago

Awesome! That color looks fantastic on you. I love it with the red lippie.

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 10 years ago

Who are you and what have you done with Deborah?  LOL

The red looks gorgeous on you.  It is dramatic but in a fabulous way.  Whenever I read about color analysis, the instructions are to drape fabrics and see which one makes your skin and eyes come alive.  That is the perfect description of how this color looks on you.

  • Ornella replied 10 years ago

Oh, yes! Good thing I'm sitting. Fab colour, fab top. I l-o-v-e the bracelet.

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 10 years ago

    Wow!  Stunning Deb!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

It strikes me that women who opt for an arty all-black look are often craving a sophistication that color can "strip away," if you know what I mean.  Color can draw attention to itself, after all!

This red is color like a painter uses it -- not as a woman seeking to decorate herself uses it.  I don't know if I have quite the words to explain it, but this blood red, as you're wearing it here, seems deliberately chosen, as if it were part of a portrait in a gallery, rather than on a mannequin in a mall window.

Which means I love it on you!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Oh my word, this is gorgeous!  You make me envy your body, your style, your coloring and your location (so that I too could buy metalicus)

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

<plonk> This red is stunning on you, Deb! You rock black of course but please get more of this color red into your closet, it is simply spectacular.

  • Hil replied 10 years ago

This colour is exquisite on you! Your eyes and red lips are alive and divine with this red.

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

You look great in dark red!

I'm with you on dark red. I've fallen into a largely black, grey, dark red palette this year.

  • citygirldc replied 10 years ago

What a  pop of color, and a deep red at that.  That deep color looks fantastic on you.

  • Windchime replied 10 years ago

Wow! You must wear this top a lot, and you must purchase more items in this color--a bag perhaps, or a wrap? It is beautiful on you and stunning with black. And a perfect color for the upcoming holidays.

  • Diana replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous red. You look great in it!

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago

It is a great shade of red for you Deb, you look fantastic in it and it goes perfectly with black ;-).

  • columbine(erin) replied 10 years ago

  • Jeanie replied 10 years ago

Wow, has the world started spinning the other way....another color!  Gorgeous.  I would love to see you in head to toe red!

  • karymk replied 10 years ago
