WIW : Cocoon Jacket

Hi Ladies,

Thanks so much for your thoughts regarding this jacket yesterday:)
I did review it carefully and believe the size is correct and I really like how it looks... so tags off and I wore it today.

I know it looks like a heavy jacket but it isn't. It is quite lightweight and unlined. It is cool today, 9 degrees and with the shirt (and cami under the shirt) and a scarf I was warm enough. However I think it will work just as well with a sleeveless top and less layers and be quite comfy on a warmer day.

For those who asked how much wear I would get out this, I imagine I will wear it from now until high summer, and then again in Autumn to early winter before it gets really cold, so I feel happy that it's enough wear to justify being one of 5 :) And I work in aircon so I often need a jacket in the warm months.

Thanks for looking and for all your advice re the jacket. I wonder if it looks better to those who weren't sure, now that is pressed and styled?

xxx Deborah

Yes it does look better now! You have won me over Deborah!

    Wohoo Anne!  Thank you!

A fabulous coat, Deborah. It looks fab with the white and black. I want one too. :)

I liked this jacket in your original post but did not get a chance to comment there :-(
I think it is a great addition for you. This silvery grey is a wonderful light neutral for you and looks smashing with white. The cut is modern, it has just enough drape to be truly Deborah's piece.
And I see you outfits lighten up now - at least fro time to time the Black Queen is coming into the Light ;-)

Lovely, Deborah. You know your proportions and drape so well. Nice to see a light color mixed with the black.

  • Brooklyn replied 8 years ago

Yes, I like it better. Especially with the scarf and bag. Love svetas comment about you being drawn into the light! But I can see why you would resist when black suits you so well. :)

Liked it in the previous post but I LOVE it now. It's a great addition to your closet!!

I didn't comment in your last thread about my uncertainty with the light grey shade, but with that colorful lippie and white blouse, it looks FAB!

    You're STUNNING!
I'm sorry I din't see the last post with this jacket, but from what I see of it here...i absolutely LOVE it!
The colour mixing here...grey/black/white looks so classy and neat... and the makeup takes it to another level... you seriously look stunning!

It looks wonderful....it is a gorgeous shape and shade.

.I glimpsed at YLF very briefly in the weekend but was too tired to comment last night with any wisdom after a very busy week and weekend!

I didn't see your previous post yet, but I love this coat,  not loosing it's edginess

despite the light color and so very you! And, do I feel right, like one of your turns coming on?(lighter colors for the summer:-)).

I really love it.  I think it looks a lot better styled.  All my concerns regarding size disappeared when I saw it styled with the scarf.  Great choice.  Now I want it.

I love it on you.  I think it will be a great addition to your wardrobe.  I love that colour on you.

Deborah - what a great coat!!  Love especially #1 - looks great with the scarf!!  Did someone think it was too big?  Looks about perfect for that style to me.  Of course love it with black because it allows the shape and fabric to shine!!  Awesome!!

Looking great! The architectural shape really shines in this outfit but does not overwhelm. I think your going to really enjoy it.

I love this coat. I'm drawn to this shape and it's such an interesting light addition to your wardrobe - it stands out in a beautiful way.

Grey, black and white looks super. I'm sure you'll get lots of wear even as the weather warms up. I had to giggle at Sveta's comment, too!

  • Eliza replied 8 years ago

Love this on you. It reads "essential Deborah" to me, yet the color and shape offer many fresh options. Glad tags are off.

Just love it! I'm surprised that others weren't sure. Maybe they weren't sure because of the weight of it, and whether you'd get good use out of it...
I love the colour on you, and it is a departure--but not a full fledged flight to the Katmandu--for you.

    Would/can you wear it closed?

ETA1: just an FYI that this type of look is exactly what I hope to do this winter, so I'm hoping you'll chime in on some of my upcoming WIWs. (No pressure or anything :-))

ETA2: Oh, I just saw the other thread where you show it closed. It looks great!
