WIW : Colour Me Black &White

Hi Lovely Ladies,

It's a busy week at work and it's also turned quite cold so getting out of my warm, cozy bed in the morning is quite the challenge and as such there is no extra time to mess around with clothes in the morning. I am reaching for I guess what would be my FFB silhouette:)

I haven't been wearing skirts much but saw my little lovelies just hanging around in my closet looking so alone that I decided I really must try to wear a skirt at least once or twice during my work week. This one is a somewhat neglected favourite:).

Styling suggestions, outfit critique etc all most welcome, and appreciated.

Enjoy your day
xxxDeborah

I especially like it with the top you are wearing (shows some skin), the necklace and white watch

    YAY white!!!

    An 11 out of 10 :) xo

Love the skirt, and I'm enjoying the necklace.  It works beautifully with neckline of your topppers, Deborah.  I could see this skirt with cobalt, with a denim topper (maybe a vest over a black top), with a diaphanous white tunic, or a fitted black jacket and red heels!

    You're looking terrific today!

Thanks Joy and Angie!  Joy I do think that showing some skin is also a way to softent the black :)

Beth Ann, thank you!  Such good ideas. Interestingly, I have recently come to the conclusion that unless it's jeans, denim just isn't my thing:)  I do have a denim shirt but it is worn very rarely.  Love the idea of the white tunic.

Hmm wouldn't it look good with the boots you posted on Angie's boot thread? But you look great here already - I like the silver necklace to balance the white!

I love this outfit on you!
You look terrific in black, but I do think my favorites are the ones with a bit of a lighter color to soften it.
I'm crazy about that silver necklace!

Nodding in agreement with Shevia about the boots...

Shevia and Parsley, those boots would be quite radical with this outfit. I hadn't considered them... hmmm thanks:)

Fantastic! Such a pretty skirt, and it looks great the way you styled it.

This is beautiful, Deborah. I love that necklace and somehow it is set off even better than usual with the white in the skirt. A kind of bookending, I guess.

Well you know what my favourite colour combo is so you KNOW what I'm gonna say, right? LOVE!

YLF - the skirt breaks up the black in a very stylish way :)
Do you wear white shirts Deborah? An oversized one would look great with this.

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Thanks Caro!  I wear white silky blouses but not cotton white button downs, they make me look to big.  But you have given me an idea for layering over this skirt for next time:)

The weather has turned quite wintery lately!
Love the simplicity of the necklace with the neckline and  curve of your topper.
    Looking AB-FAB here!

  • Hil replied 10 years ago

That is a great skirt - I love the pop of light in the skirt and the necklace!

Really like this look! I think a white tunic would look great.
