WIW : Christmas In Oz

Merry Christmas to all you wonderful Fabbers.

It's summer here in Australia and for a change it's not been an insanely hot Christmas Day.  It's low 30's but we have quite a bit of wind today, so we decided to eat indoors.  We love to do have our meal outdoors weather permitting but table cloths and centrepieces just were not going to stay put.

I have a very bad habit of not planning my Christmas Day outfit so there was a bit of 'phaffing' around this morning.  I knew I wanted to wear my Jersey Split Cropped Pants (not so cropped on me tho:) and decided to wear this white hammered satin top that I haven't worn at all this summer. I think it's on it's third summer. Today was one of those rare days when all black just wasn't cutting it.   Wearing a back jersey long cami underneath and then top semi tucked into my Betty Belt.  AND I am pleased to say that the white top got through food prep, cooking and lunch unscathed. Quite an accomplishment for me:)

Hopefully the proportions work.  The lower slung belt definitely creates shorter looking legs but I think it's ok??

#3 is one of my Christmas pressies from my very generous hubby. Metalicus Kos Drape Pants in..... NAVY ;)

Hope you are all having a wonderful day not matter what you are doing.

xxx Deborah

I loveyourChristmas outfit, Deborah. It looks crisp and dramatic. I can't wait to see you in the new navy drape pants. They look amazing.

Fab outfit for Xmas Deborah. Its amazingly cool in WA, only about 25 degrees, I even cooked our roast lamb in the kitchen oven - normally our oven doesn't even get switched on betwern Dec and Mar. Hubby is just cleaning up and then its time for port and choccies...

A great Christmas Day outfit Deborah- the pant with the split at the bottom is quite unusual.
It was  a hot day for us here, but we still enjoyed our traditional roast turkey and veg.
I totally approve of your X-mas pressie from DH. My navy draped Metalicus pants are well-loved, especially for wearing around the house as they are soo comfortable.
I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas and a well-earned rest til the new year?

Cool and calm for Christmas. I'm not yet brave enough for a white top for making lunch!
Very best Christmas wishes to you and your family.

    Killer

The slits in the trousers makes them swoosh with delight, as well as give them structure by revealing bare legs. The black shoe extends the leg line. Very nicely done.

Stunning outfit Deborah.  I love the pants on you - almost like a swooshy skirt/pants hybrid with incredible drape.  Very dramatic and elegant.  Have a wonderful holiday!!

Very Grecian-moves-to-the-21st-century.  I think the proportions work --- my eye "knows" that the torso is being visually lengthened.  In other words, I know it's the clothes playing with the proportions, not a figure with short legs!

What fabulous layering! I love how the black cami looks like a kind of cummerbund round your hips and the top semi tucked into your belt looks great. You were a brave lady indeed wearing white to cook and eat at Christmas!

Nice!  I like the black and white contrast and the drapiness of the pieces.  I can't wait to see outfits with those navy pants.
