WIW: Black & White ... Ladylike!

Hi Ladies,

Start of a new week and a busy day in the office - my colleague was attacked by bees when she disturbed their hive yesterday and she is recuperating at home! I have seen her and she's ok.

I felt "ladylike" to day so...
I'm wearing an old black skirt, polka dot pussy bow blouse, leather blazer, black and cream slim belt, black pumps with white trim. For a weenie bit of color (which I realise you can't see) my silver bird necklace with red drop.

Thanks for looking and you comments and suggestions for improvement always much valued.

Happy Monday!
xxx Deborah

You are Queen of the pencil skirt, you wear them so well! I especially like this with the jacket in #2. Definitely ladylike in the best way.

Yummy! Love the combination of polka dots and leather --- it creates a strong, but feminine balance.

Very fab, Deb! Your watch acts as the 'pop' in this outfit, and keeps the glam look from being too delicate.

Have you ever tried hitching up the waistband of this skirt to see how it works an inch or so shorter? I suspect that hemming it up slightly so that it hits closer to the bottom of your knee could also be really flattering???? Just an afterthought, because it also looks great as is :).

ALWAYS lady-like Deborah, but today especially so!

Thanks for your kind comments ladies.

Lynne the length of the skirt probably gives away how old it is :)

Lyn I figure it's good to at least 'look' lady like even if I am not 'actually' always lady like! lol

    Deborah, what a polished look!

  • Ingunn replied 11 years ago

    Very elegant! I wouldn't change a thing.

Elegant and polished(so not surprising you felt kind of ladylike in a good way!), but so YOU, Deb! That leather jacket makes all the differences. THAT IS A SIGNITURE PIECE!:-)

Agree that the leather jacket just sends this look into the stratosphere. Elegant in the best way.

That blouse is so beautiful Deborah - gorgeous, ladylike outfit indeed. Your poor colleague!

Black & white and ladylike works for me!
I particularly like this with the leather blazer.
Beautiful and elegant as ever, Deborah!

Lovely! That leather blazer is TDF, too! These traditional outfits certainly bring out the ladylike look you have. Love the PB blouse, too. :)

This look is just perfect! The way you've brought the leather jacket to go with something so feminine, yet it doesn't look overtly edgy. And to my eye I wouldn't even think you require a pop of color because the outfit is complete!

You always look so polished, I truly admire your all look.
    This outfit is a winner.

ETA: Now that you are going into spring do you crave color?(just curious)

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Lovely, lady-like, polished and gorgeous as always, Debs!

Next outfit, let's see some colour :)

  • Carole replied 11 years ago

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

Beautiful because it's not too sweet!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Thank you! The jacket was an excellent purchase...I love it and it works over so many things.

Celia, yes I do crave color as Spring arrives. In fact more and more I just don't feel the all black thing.

Angie thanks for keeping me on my toes! Next outfit will have colour;)

Elegant, ladylike, modern and very you, Deborah! I love the leather blazer with this super outfit, and really like how your white skinny belt picks up the white of those sweet polka dots.

P.S. Glad to hear your colleague is alright, how frightening that must have been.
