WIW : Black and White Stripes

Hi Ladies,

This is what I wore today to work and when I bought my new pink top!

This is one of two striped items in my closet. I don't generally love stripes on myself but the black and white and the width of these stripes make it more appealing to me. I was going to move the skirt on but it is so comfortable and I am still enjoying it. This is a work outfit, so added a touch of lady like with the sandals. I would prefer this with my black Emilia block heels but for the past two nights I have been up and down a ladder decorating the church christmas tree (still not quite finished - seems I am as obsessive about dressing Christmas Trees as I am about dressing myself, and no the tree is not black and white, although I do with they would let me do that) and my feet couldn't have handled heels today.

So the outfit is Kmart black and white midi skirt, back Marlini Drape top from Metalicus and sandals from Rivers. Bag from a store here called Forever New.

This is not a combo I would wear in my off time, but it's something that is very office appropriate for me.

Thanks for looking. Suggestion for improvement always welcome.

xxx Deborah

Gorgeous, Deborah! Those sandals are just the perfect choice--love how they echo the stripes.

I'm glad you are hanging on to the skirt, Deborah. I love this outfit from head-to-toe (of course, stripes always make me happy, but you really are rocking this skirt:-) It looks great with the drapey top (great neckline and the necklace works so well here too). And then those two-toned sandals are the perfect icing on the cake.

(ETA: I could sooo see you do an all black & white Christmas tree;-)

Inge when it's time to retire our current tree at home (it's not a real one of course) I might replace with a white one and decorate with black baubles!!

Oooh loving the sound of that!-)

Why would you move that skirt on?...It just looks fab with your style...I would only wear it more and include those sandals..please...

Oooohh ... White Christmas tree with black baubles? :). I love this outfit .. Especially your super fun two tone sandals. The top has a nice shape too.

    Oh Deborah.  I love it.

    What Inge said!

Best tree decorating outfit ever! I've never decorated a Christmas tree in a sleeveless shirt here in the northern hemisphere. It's always a warm sweater and jeans.

Would your family go for the black and white tree? :)

I really love this on you, Deb. I don't see why you wouldn't wear it outside the office. The shoes are the perfect echo of the stripes. Decorating the tree?!? I guess we are sneaking up on that time, aren't we? You are the most stylish tree-decorator in town!!

    This is so good Deborah!
I see now where I went wrong with a similar pair of sandals I own- they had a white ankle strap and just didn't look right. ( I cut it off!) The black is perfect with this skirt, and I love the entire outfit :)

Great work outfit. I let my skirt go, along with most of my other skirts.

Wish I looked this great in stripes.
