WIW: Almost Black...OK ALL Black

Its a lovely cold morning in Bendigo *happy sigh* and I have Master 9 home with a slight cold and I am taking the opportunity to drive to Melbourne to collect my new camera which I left at friends house last week :( Hence the return to Iphone Pics. Nothing super exciting but this outfit really does represent what I feel is most 'me'. The ponte skinny pants you have seen before, and these are the new Hush Puppie Booties (3rd consecutive day wearing them - I would sleep in them if DH let me) and the oversized square sweater is new. Selected this handbag to add a non black element :) Thanks for looking and hope you are all having a lovely day. xxx Deborah

    Good Morning Deborah!
You look so cosy in this outfit- I can see why you love the booties too.
What topper did you add for going outside?
The light bag and earrings look great here.
I hope DS is better soon- I am lounging around with a cold instead of helping in the School Kitchen-Garden today.

Lyn I have my black coat and a large textured black scarf:). Thanks Caro... There's no fighting it... I LOVE black :)

I like black too so I can understand.  I think the shape and texture of your outfit keeps it interesting even with the monochromatic color scheme.

FABULOUS! Especially love the booties and bag...of course, you know I have a thing for black myself...

I love the shape of that top on you, Debs! You own that silhouette in tops. And so glad that the new k-word worthy boots are working out too :)

Thanks ladies:). This outfit is a 10 on my happiness scale:) Angie thank you! I am working on ways to lift my black and am seeking out navy and greys too. I am feeling very drawn to neutrals. Knowing how you feel about all black I really appreciate your comment and how you appreciate and understand each of our personal leanings and likings style wise. Shannon you know you rock black:). If you decide to try the booties and need any help sourcing them please let me know, though I imagine HP's are readily available most placed;)

That's one fantastic top/tunic, and the boots are perfect. Yay for happy feet! Stellar outfit, Deborah!

Love this outfit. You always have an impeccable sense of proportion.

That sweater shape looks fab on you and I love the bag. Your style is quite striking.

I never would have thought of Hush Puppies for stylish boots but I took a look and saw several that I like. Great find!

This is such a simple yet chic look.  The shape of the top combined with the fab boots make it a 10, glad to hear you feel the same way while wearing it.  Filing this away as an example of how to wear all black!

You rock these Totokaelo kind of outfits.  Sounds rather nippy in Bendigo. we are still having weird warm here in Sydney. Yesterday It was 10 c degrees when I got up, but it shot up to about 18 before i'd even left the house.
  • Deborah replied 10 years ago
Thank you so much for your very kind comments.  I really felt good in this today.

Agnes, I can browse Totokaelo for hours :)  I find Sydney weather very much as you describe. How's the humidity?  That's the one things I don't enjoy about the Sydney climate

Love it! Great top!! I keep seeing waterfall cardies everywhere for you too. Have you had any luck finding a good replacement?
  • Deborah replied 10 years ago
Anna, yes I have seen a few and I apologise as I just realised i don't think I responded to you very kind message.

I saw a very nice black jacket, similar to the one I returned but actually a bit nicer (at Jacqui E) but they didn't have my size:(  I get the impression that there will be quite a few options out there.

Oh, this has to be one of my faves of yours in a time! Love the drapey square top as has narrow sleeves on the lower arm, so there is still a good amount  of structure! can I ask are these tops really not having any seams for shaping around bust, or  the waist(on back for ex)? Are they really cut from a flat square of material, put the sleeves and neckline, then hemmed only? Just curious...
BTW, has the Complex Geometries dress arrive? Eager to see that, too:-)
  • Deborah replied 10 years ago
Lyn this top is two pieces. The back and the front with side seams. No shaping at all:). And the complexgeometries dress has arrived. It's awesome. Will try to post soon.

Deborah, your outfit is so artistic and cool, I almost can't wrap my head around it :)  People who say black is boring or mundane... really have no imagination.    You look amazing!

Love that sweater shape on you, Deborah. Aspirational style rules!!
