WIW : A Long Dress

I don't wear dresses much during the heart of winter but today I just felt like a a change from warm pants and layers. Probably not my best idea...I wasn't quite warm enough:(

I am hoping this falls into the JFE camp. I know the dress is not the most flattering but still I really love it. It's from Laura Ashley and I love the way it just falls, it's a beautiful weight crepe type fabric and is almost a maxi dress, which is different for me. And it has a fabulous drape detail at the back.

Worn with tall boots and new faux leather jacket.

JFE?

Thanks for looking.
xxx Deborah

Definitely JFE+ in my book. It looks great with the jacket and I love the back detail.

More than JFE - I think it is totally flattering! I think you look super, with the jacket and without :)

This looks wonderful on you, Deborah. I especially like the dress with the jacket. The boots look fab too.

Looks wonderful on you! That jacket is the perfect finishing piece. I love the play of texture and the proportion over the long dress. YLF!

Yes, great dress, the jacket looks fab.

Thank you! The proportions are a little different for me, particularly the length, so I am thrilled you think it works:). The jacket is going to be great over my Spring dresses:)

More than JFE.  Totally flattering and beautiful.  Your photos always look like they were shot for a UK shelter magazine - that kitchen (or is it your dining room) must be out of this world!

WOW- great that you have found a jacket that not only goes with dresses but increases the Fab-factor!
I have been 'thinking' about wearing my only Winter dress too- on the outfit ideas list :)

I am sorry you weren't warm enough. Gorgeous.

lisap, to your right of me is my dining area and to your left is the kitchen:)  We are really blessed to have a lovely home but it's quite modest by some standards:)  I am quite a minimalist on the home décor front so it's all very simple and no fuss:)

Lyn D, it is so cold here, I am in jeans and layers again today at work.  As much as I love Winter, I feeling a little limited in what I can wear at the moment due to need to not freeze.

Beautiful, dramatic draping!  I like it best with the jacket, I suppose for the bit of texture and structure in the leather.  I love me a long length -- if I could only find them in the stores!

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Thanks Beth Ann:)  I could see you swanning around the campsite in long black dress ;) Well seriously, it would be a great performance dress:)  I like it best with a topper too.

You look wonderful.  That coat is amazing.

Looks great to me and your legs are covered in the boots so you will not feel cold.
I also wear dresses with boots in the Winter.
