WIW: A Floral For Me!

Happy Tuesday!

Well I told a small fib on Angie's Floral blog post.  I forgot that I actually have two floral items of clothing, not one.

I bought this dress Summer 2013 on a whim.  I wanted something soft and pretty!  But I always felt like a bit of a brick in it and struggled to give it edge.

Perhaps due to Angie's post, I was inspired today to try it out with a cropped sweater over it.

Dress:  Espirit
Sweater : Katies
Shoes : Rubi

It is a slightly different silhouette for me I think?  I also think it looks better IRL with movement:)

What do you think?  Have I succeeded in making this 'mine'?

Thanks for looking.
xxx Deborah

PS... apologies for #3... I think I just fell into what is commonly referred to as 'resting b*&%% face'.. that must be my don't mess with me face lol

What a pretty floral! Looks great!

I like this - and not just because from a distance the florals look like skulls :)  (or maybe that's just me - lol)  This is a very pretty look on you , without being too blah. Which is how I feel today.  And re the resting b face?  You have a great one too - (I have one of the best, apparently, or so I'm told in meetings) !

I like this too. Feels very in keeping with your style. And you little fibber. I wouldn't have guessed that you would have had not one, but two floral pieces? But you've done this so well.

I like it too.  I am finding a newfound love of curved hems.  I find they work with so many different clothing pieces and seem to take a lot of the work out of mastering proportions.  Great way to take the blog and put it to work to save an orphan.

This is incredibly pretty on you! What great styling, Deb. Curved hems are brilliant. This is what I love about semi-tuck -- it creates the illusion of a curved hem.

Yes this looks like you, and it looks a very comfortable outfit.  It is nice to have a chance to wear it.

What other beauties have you got hiding in your closet? This is gorgeous on you - it has a beautiful airiness, along with your trademark edge.

It's different for you but it looks good! I think hiding some of the floral works for your style.

    Happy Monday night!

This looks fantastic on you! I like the addition of the sweater. The curved, cropped hem makes it look like you!

Oh wowwwweee! You look fab! The sandals and curved cropped sweater give it some sass and edginess. I love it on you! And I even like your face in 3 :D It's like...hey, you looking' at me? Cause you should be while wearing this lovely little outfit! :D

This is a much softer look than I am used to seeing on you. It looks good, but I'm not sure I like it as much as your other outfits. (I have chronic BRF as well lol)

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Looks great. As my profile shot suggests, I am on team resting bitch face!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

It does strike me as different for you, but still within your style. The pullover gives the dress your artful touch. I really like the two together. The sandals are also just right with this look.
I have a serious case of RBF. I would resent the term (as in, how come there isn\'t a male equivalent??), except that I can\'t argue with its applicability to moi. :)

  • Dimity replied 9 years ago

Yes, you've succeeded. This looks like a pretty, soft version of you. The cropped jumper works really nicely.

  • Ingunn replied 9 years ago

Yes, this totally works. I second what Suz said about the curved hem. I like your RBF, it makes you look very confident :)

  • Olivegreen replied 9 years ago

Does not seem to fit your slightly tough, minimalist vibe, which I like very much. In fact, on you, it is a little staid. Which you are not.

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

I think, this is exactly your very own way of florals!  I think, it matches your overall style perfectly!:-)

I really like this on you Deborah. Yes, it's a bit different for your style but equally flattering and lovely.

  • MTBGirl replied 9 years ago

Wow! It looks like the top was made for that dress! You look FAB!

  • Staysfit replied 9 years ago

This is a very soft version of you. It's nice and definitely recognizeable as your unique style. I like it!

I don't usually love dresses, but this one looks so lovely Deborah !

The way you've styled the dress you certainly look very slender and very far from a brick.  The shorter length also shows off your very lovely legs.  That's actually a FLORAL?  You had me wondering if you were going to show us something with yellow or pink flowers. . .
