WIW : A Belt with Super Powers!

Ok so I may be exaggerating:)

I am not a belt wearer in general, I find them constricting and uncomfortable most of the time.  But this one has added new life to some of my wardrobe.

I know the wide elastic belts have been around for a long time, but ones I have had in the past have not been soft, have been too tight and/or I never liked the buckle part.  This one is soft, stretches easily over the hips, or fits nicely around the waist and a clean modern looking buckle. It also sits comfortably on my tummy creating a bit of 'gut buster' effect;)  I have been wearing mine quite a bit and enjoying creating a slightly different look with some of my clothing.

Wearing:

Metalicus Marlini Blood Red Drape Top
Suzanne Grae Wide Leg Pants altered into Culottes
Motto Betty Belt
Myer Slides

Thanks for looking.  Sorry I haven't been around much, taking on a second job has been great but free time is now at a minimum.  Keeping up my YLF reading on my phone but less opportunity for comments.  I am sure once I get into a routine I will be back as normal.

xxx Deborah

That is a super belt, Deborah. I think I've noticed and admired it in other WIWs of yours recently, or are there others that you have been wearing? It really gives shape and extra interest to this outfit. That shade of red is gorgeous on you, too.

I empathise with the time thing Deb!! And what a great belt. I'm thinking about belts myself. I'll keep this one in mind.

I love these kind of belts although I only wear them over something AND under a topper, because I don't really have a waist. I LOVE this one and you have me looking now for a similar one available here. That red is also stellar on you!

Fantastic to see you in red. It suits you. And I think the belt is a great variation.

Red! You look amazing in red.  I love this belt and the waist definition.  Lovely.

That belt is wonderful and really takes the partial tuck to a new level of cool.

I agree that the red top is gorgeous on you!!

  • Colette replied 8 years ago

Cool belt! I like the way you have the belt lower on your hips and the tuck. And the fact that you can use the belt at your waist and hips is super. That color red looks amazing on you!

  • Beewee replied 8 years ago

Hmm. It would have never occurred to me to faux tuck that particular style of belt. You look fantastic!

Love this outfit and the belt!  I agree with other posters that you look fab in red!

  • Sveta replied 8 years ago

Super belt! Nothing like a nice little  detail to refresh the old outfit or take it to the next level.
You said it is stretches over hips - does it stay put there? For me unless a belt is fitted through the loops of the pants it will not stay put if it is not on my waist...

The Betty belt is really cool and you look great in red and black.

  • Peri replied 8 years ago

Wow! Love the belt but love the red even more!

That's a belt I need. I avoid belts for the same reasons. Btw, all around stunner outfit :)

Such a neat partial tuck effect with your belt!
It shows how a well chosen accessory can create variety in outfits.

The belt is helping you create new lines in your outfits --- so glad it's comfortable, too!   Accessories are back in favor, and I for one am very happy!

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

I'm not much for wearing belts either. This one looks great and I love the red top and simple shapes of this outfit. I've noticed this belt on several of your recent outfits.

  • Cococat replied 8 years ago

I have been looking at the Motto belt online and wondering what it was like. It looks fab on you Deborah. The red top is such a spectacular colour too. Wow!

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Sveta, its needs a little adjusting when I get out of the car, but otherwise it pretty much stays in place :

Allow me to be the 100th person to tell you how awesome that red is on you! And you've given me an idea for a big drapey top I bought at the same store as my butt-vest. Never occurred to me to semi tuck into a low belt, but now...oh, may have to wait for Summer, but still.
