"Pixie"lated

Hi Ladies,

Had a haircut today and did what I have been wanting to do for some time which is go shorter at the sides and front.  It has been texturised and the front section (bangs) shortened with the longest length now finishing above my ear's lowest point.  The back is the same as before but with texturising.

Sorry the pics aren't so good and Im looking a bit washed out due to not enough sleep but here goes...

It's a bit Claire Underwood (I think) depending on how I style it.  I can sweep the left side around and style the hair forward so there is no part. (kind of like #1/2)  Or I can leave the side part (#3/4).  I am looking forward to having a play with product to exaggerate the texturing.

I cannot believe how much I love it!

Because I booked the appointment on a whim, my stylist wasn't available so I saw Bonnie who is a young stylist at the salon.  Well she was amazing.  My stylist (the boss) had briefed her on my hair and what techniques work and what don't and she dry cut my hair (my preference and hers) so we could see as we went how it was working.

So what do you think?  Not fishing for compliments but I am beginning to wonder why I didn't just go this short with texture from the start.

Thanks for looking.

xxx Deborah

PS.. in #2 and #4 it looks like there is a dark patch but it must be the light.  Just checked and the colour (which I didn't have done today) is completely even. xx

Oh, this is perfect! It goes so well with your style. Please let us know how difficult is to style it yourself.
I would love to do something similar, but I am wash and go type of girl, afraid of brush and products :)

I love it, Deborah.  I know you said the darker looking patch is just an illusion, but I think it would look fantastic with a darker colour in the back and through the sides.  Very, very nice.

Fantastic! Bonnie is a keeper! I always get my hair dry cut too. My stylist is from Italy and he says most U.S. salons do wet cuts purely for customer comfort (IMO it's worth putting up with the itchy, hair clippings in my bra factor). He says you can never get the line quite right or see how the hair falls as well with a wet cut. With a dry cut it should be easier to style yourself. I just love this look on you; it's a great extension of your own style.

It looks great, Deborah! I like how it's not a drastic change from what you had, but the front is lighter (weight-wise, not color-wise) and highlights your face more.

  • amiable replied 2 years ago

YES!  This is very you - choppy, short, modern and dramatic.  I love it!

Oh, I LOVE it! Absolutely stunning. I may have to take to my stylist to see if I can manage with the longer side bits, too -- that's a really nice touch. Beautiful cut.

    Fantastic! YLF!

  • tulle replied 2 years ago

When I saw your inspiration photos, I thought immediately that they all had a sweetly boyish appeal--the old Eton crop with  modern choppy edges--which suits your puckish vibe perfectly.

  • SarahTheWhite replied 2 years ago

Love love LOVE!! It is perfectly in keeping with your style and your preferences and also has that edge of modernness you wanted! It also looks smooth but dimensional. Just perfect!

    You look AAAAmazing!

  • Marilyn replied 2 years ago

Super cool haircut, Deborah.  Looks fantastic!

  • Mander replied 2 years ago

Love it. I wish I could persuade my Mom to try a cut a bit like this! She always ends up with a bob-with-bangs kind of look but I think she'd look great with something a bit like this.

  • Lyn D. replied 2 years ago

    LOVE :)

  • Aida replied 2 years ago

So fun! The long bits look super, and the color looks good with it too.

  • Runcarla replied 2 years ago

So ahead of the curve! I think you have achieved exactly what you wanted to with this transition of your hair style.

    Joining the chorus....Love!!!

  • shevia replied 2 years ago

I love it! Sort of what I was going for in my last cut if you can imagine it the grey, curly, rough version! I may use your picture, although my hairdresser will laugh her head off.

  • Karin L H replied 2 years ago

Lovely cut! You look great so I can see why you love it!
