WIW : New Droppies

Hi Fab Ones,

As you may know I have a bit of a thing for drop crotch pants:)

These are my latest addition:)  Stepping out of my comfort zone with a printed pant this time. It's animal print but still in my usual colour palette.  Wore them today and I really enjoyed them.

I know they are an acquired taste, but what do you think?

Thanks for looking,

WIW : EF Harems Sunday Styling:)

Hi Lovely Ladies,

I am besotted with these pants!!  Today is my first wearing of them.  I am not really doing much, popping in to see my MIL and then we will find somewhere to have a relaxed lunch (DH is on holidays so we are being naughty and skipping church today).

I have gone for a pretty casual styling inspired by Aliona's recent outfit.  It's getting cooler here so a top with a little more coverage is good for today.  I cannot wear turtle necks so my version is this higher drapey neckline. I bought this in black and soft grey recently from Temt!  Motto belt and Target sandals (which I am living in at the moment).

If I am organised enough, I will try to put together an outfit with the harems for Tuesday when I am back at my office job.  Thinking a crisper short top and jacket and heels.

Ok so over to you.  What do you think?  Oh my DH said he was very happy that I was so pleased with them lol... reading between the lines anyone?!?  He is a sweetie :)  and always encourages me to wear what I like.

Thanks for taking a peek.

Also, Angie is so right about having patience.  I have wanted these ever since they first appeared on the forum. I did buy a very cheap knock off on line but they were awful and I never actually wore them out of the house.   I am so pleased now that I waited until I could get the 'real deal'.  The quality, the cut, everything is just so fab.

WIW & Easter Greetings

Hi Everyone,

It's Good Friday here as I type and we have been to church and visited my mother in law for lunch. Master 13 finished his first term at high school yesterday and we are all exhausted after what has been a very busy first term. We are looking forward to a little mini break:)

I have been really enjoying wearing culottes this season and now that the weather has cooled I can get the open toes ankle boots out and start styling my culottes a little different to how I have been wearing them over summer.

Today I wore my black jersey culottes with ankle boots, white blouse and new long black cardigan. I had been searching for a long black cardigan last year and settled for a cheap one I found but was never really happy wearing it (YLF has made me a bit of a stickler for quality). This one is perfect. It has a knit front and jersey back and sleeves. It's a very nice weight and falls perfectly.

Hoping the long cardi with the culottes isn't too voluminous. I liked the look and can see myself repeating it but might be inclined to try a more streamlined top.

BTW I decided to have some low lights in my hair to break up what had become quite a blocked blonde. The lighting is making it look a bit darker than it is, the blonde is still very white and I'm really happy with it. #3 was taken in natural light.  The idea was that it would add texture and movement to my short cut.

#4 is an Easter artwork Master 13 created with some friends which was displayed in the church foyer this morning... It was a nice change from him being on the computer !!

Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy weekend.

WIW : Harems

Happy Weekend Ladies,

It's a long weekend for us here:)

This outfit is the same top as Thursdays canteen outfit, but different bottoms and footwear.

I love these pants and am looking forward to taking them into Autumn and and being able to wear some of my jackets with them.  I am thinking open toe booties might work in Autumn but not sure what else.

Footwear wise what else do you think might work?  Thanks for looking and I appreciate your suggestions.

WIW : School Canteen Duty

Hi Ladies,

I did my first volunteer shift on school canteen today!  Of course the question of what to wear was on my mind first thing.  We were required to wear closed in shoes and no tank tops but otherwise it was up to us.

I decided I needed comfort, clothes that would wash easily and, well,  I still needed to dress like me.

So I wore (all jersey fabrics) cropped pants, cami top and square oversized top with my slip on sneaks.

Felt good and even felt put together well enough for a coffee out after my vounteer shift.

It's the usual all black everything, but thanks for taking a peek :)

WIW : Denim Look Culottes

Hi Fab Ones,

I bought these culottes a few weeks ago and today is the first outing for them.

I love culottes and these are my third pair.  I have black winter, black summer and these which are pretty transeasonal.

They look like denim but are a lovely weight jersey, so they swish and flow beautifully when you move.

It was especially nice today when DH, who hadn't seen them before, unsolicited, told me he really liked them :)

Wearing them with a chiffon blouse (sheer sleeves) tucked at the front.

Culottes - Motto
Blouse - Motto
Sandals - Kmart

Any comments or suggestions for styling much appreciated.

Thanks for looking

WIW : Mum of a Teen!!

Yes it happened.  It's Master 12's birthday today (Feb 12) and he is now Master 13.  I am the mum of a teenager!!!  Had a great (early) morning opening birthdays gifts and sadly he has to spend his day at school but he went off happy and excited.

Birthday cake is in the oven and I am dressed for another warm day.

It is so hard seeing the Autumn clothing arrive in the stores while we are still have 30+ days.

Today's outfit ,another volume on volume look.

Peggy Silver Tee - Metalicus (part of my Xmas present from DH)
80 cm Jersey Cami - Motto
Grey Silk Skirt - Kondo Tricot
Sandals - Famous Footwear

I am finding I love tonal grey looks almost as much as I like black!! This outfit may be an acquired taste??

Comments, suggestions for improvement etc very much appreciated.

Thanks so much for looking.

WIW : Dress over Pants

Hi Ladies,

Trying to get back into a routine of taking photos:).

Dress over pants is probably one of my FFBO. I have been wearing dresses over pants since the 90's lol.

Dress : Motto

Pants : Katie's

Sandals : Kmart

Had a browse around the shops today and it seems suede is one of the key fabrics of our impending Autumn / Winter. Has that been the case in other parts of the world?

Thanks for looking. Comments, suggestions all much appreciated.

WIW : Streamlined Black and a solitary pearl:)

Hi Ladies,

I am so over the hot weather.   I think I am done with summer clothing and am now starting to think about Autumn/Winter.

Today, with thanks to some cooler weather, I was able to get back to a little layering and wore a new item bought with Autumn in mind.  It's a sleeveless jacket / vest in black.  Fabric is soft but still has a little structure which I like.    I have quite a few tops that will go well with this over my slim pants for the office.

Sleeveless Draped Jacket :  Tempt
Kaffy Cami : Motto
Skinny Black Jeans : Katies
Shoes : Novo

Also debuted my new pearl pendant.  Thanks for the suggestions on my other thread. I went with a small square diamond stud earring so as not to detract from the necklace.

Thanks for looking.  All comments, thoughts, suggestions much appreciated.

WIW : A Lazy Sunday

Hi Fab Ones,

DH is on holiday so we have some free Sundays this month and took the opportunity to visit a lovely town about 40 minutes away for a wander and lunch.

This town has some great cafes and a fantastic bookshop that you can get lost in.  We came home with a lovely candle, some goats milk soap, a tshirt for DH and a new book for Master 12.  There is an amazing boutique that I always drop in to and found they were closing down and everything was reduced, but I came home empty handed.

Weather is in the 30's so I restrained myself from too much layering:)  I wore a black asymmetric hem dress and long vest both by Metalicus and my favourite sandals:)  I was a bit concerned I would be too hot, but felt very comfortable all day:)

Its funny posting summer outfits while so many of you are experiencing cold temps :)  I cannot wait to be able to put on skinny jeans and oversized sweater.
