WIW : Metalicus but Navy!

Hi Ladies,

With my new job and it being Winter, there is no light when I leave and it's dark when I get home, so I am going to have work on my indoor lighting - my apologies for the quality of the pics.  Any advice on camera settings for inside at night??  I have a Nikon 5100.

Work outfit today:
Metalicus Navy Jacket
Metalicus Triangle Tank (worn backwards)
L.Linda Coated Skinny Pants
Hush Puppy Ankle Boots

This is a tricky jacket to wear so I tried to keep it simple.  I prefer it over a skinny pant, it doesn't quite work to my eye over a skirt.  It is a clever jacket and can be 'adjusted' so that that the length at the back is still draped but shorter!!   The pants are coated and give off a bit of leather vibe (I am very into the leather look at the moment:} ).

The tank is designed to be worn either way.  The proper front is shorter than the back, and the neckline is lower, so I wore it the over way round for more coverage and so that the longer length would be a the front and provide some length to (hopefully) complement the drape of the jacket.

I haven't worn the jacket much yet because I have been working out the best styling for it.  How did I do.  Does this work to your eye?

Thanks for taking a look.

Lipstick!

Hi Fabbers!

One of my key make up items has always been my lipstick.  Red has kind of been my signature lip colour and over the years I have used a number of brands who at one time or another made 'my red'. Recently I have been looking again for my perfect red and low and behold I found it :)

The brand is Smashbox  (http://www.smashbox.com) and the colour I am now using is Legendary.  It is a beautiful texture, glides on, good coverage and is lasting.. it feels quite luxurious.  I am looking forward to trying some other colours too.

It was a young friend who is studying to be a makeup artist that brought this brand to my attention.  She said it's not only a great product but also commonly used in photo sessions?!?

Just thought I would share my good fortune:}

WIW : Remix

Hi Ladies,

Not a work day, but had to go in for a couple of hours for a volunteer morning tea :)  Decided to wear my sweater from yesterday but remixed with different pieces.

Metalicus Jacket
Suzanne Grae Split Back Sweater
Serra Ponte Slim Leg Pants
Serra Black Leather Ankle Boots

It's quite a minimal look, I think, and while I did wear earring and a simple silver necklace, maybe next time I would wear the more 'statement' pendant below in my finds?

Thanks for looking:)

WIW : Another Day, Same Jacket:)

Happy Sunday Ladies!

Be prepared to become totally sick of seeing this jacket lol!

I couldn't help myself, I wore it to church this morning:)

Outfit comprises:

Motto Leatherette Hi Luxe Jacket
Suzanne Grae Metalic Silver Split Back Sweater
Metalicus Tube Skirt (Basics Range)
Serra Ankle Boots
Myer Silver & Black Envelope Clutch

This outfit felt really good and I received some lovely compliments at church on the jacket.  I am expecting a couple of the girls are out shopping the new Motto store as I type lol.

What do you think?  I know I can go overboard with layering but I did enjoy the proportions.

When I got home, I realised this could have been a good outfit for my ankle boot challenge and my pewter ankle boots might have been an option... will try another time:)  The black booties I am wearing make me nice and tall:)

Thanks for your thoughts, and hope everyone is enjoying a lovey weekend.

WIW : Best Jacket Ever!

Lol, well my excitement my wear off, but I hope not.  This is the Motto Jacket I bought last week (with Birthday $$) and I could not be more happy.

I have been looking for a leather jacket in this style (inspired by my love of all things Rick Owens) and couldn't believe it when I found this.

It is not leather but looks a bit that way.  It is actually a double coated jersey. It's heavy-ish to pick up but feels light weight on.  It has stretch, and can be washed in the washing machine!!

I wore it out for coffee this morning over leggings, a long sleeve top and a tunic.  Its cold here and the jacket is surprisingly warm. I suspect that with a short sleeves underneath it will also be find for Spring.

This is one of those garments that I could literally wear every day (but I will try to control myself).

Couldn't wait to show show.  What do you think?

Thanks for taking a look:)

WIW : Red Booties V.2

Hi Ladies,

I so appreciated your positive comments on my red ankle boot outfit in my previous post and today I did a variation of that outfit. Opted for a slightly simpler ensemble and minimized the amount of red.

Wearing Oversized Black Sweater, Black Skinny Pants, Animal Print Scarf  and Deep Red Ankle Boots.  I do normally 'tie' my scarves but today I just felt like letting it drape.

I feel like I can now get these boots into more regular rotation, so now it's onto the next pair :)

BTW  I have rolled my pants to show more of the boots, but my goodness I don't know how people do this in the cold weather.  My ankles are freezing and I think I will have to pop on a pair of nude stocking socks to cover my ankles before I go out again. Lol

Thanks for looking.

WIW : A Personal Challenge

Hi Ladies,

I have set myself a personal challenge to actually wear some of my non black ankle boots!!  I have some really nice booties.  Aside from the ones below I also have a blonde toned pull on ankle boot, a blue and white speckled design and a deep red pair (in this WIW).  So far this winter I have been only been reaching for my black ankle boots.  SO... I am challenging myself to wear these other booties to work over the coming weeks.  Each time I have added non black booties to the my wardrobe, the plan has been to wear them with black or with a bit of accent colour, but it's too easy to just go with black:(

So today's effort was with my red ankle boots.  I wasn't overly thrilled with this combo.  I think I over did it with the red top.  I have included my inspiration pic and I think either a black or a white top would have been better and kept it looking sleeker :)

Took pics after work with no daylight so apologies for the quality.  My house lights are all warm toned.

So I liked the idea but I wasn't thrilled with the execution.
